The Herald/Review reports that Cochise Harm Reduction has raised more than $80,000 toward purchasing a commercial building on Bisbee Road in the Warren district, which will become the organization’s permanent headquarters. The campaign is covering a $75,000 down payment along with closing and moving expenses, while the remaining purchase cost is being financed through a commercial loan from Western Bank. The organization is relocating from the Premier Alliances campus on Naco Highway, where it has operated for the past three years.
Executive Director Lu Funk emphasized the significance of the move: “Owning this building will be transformational for our work.” Funk added, “This building is an investment in CHR’s future, our community, and a stronger foundation for harm reduction in Cochise County.” The new site is expected to provide private offices for growing staff, expanded warehouse capacity for supplies and mobile units, space for programs and volunteers, a potential commercial kitchen, and drop-in services for participants.
