Victory Over Addiction holds third annual event

The third annual Victory Over Addiction resource fair and victory walk took place on November 4 at the Salvation Army Community Center in Sierra Vista, featuring 19 organizations, including Cochise Harm Reduction. Becky Smyth, a facilitator with Parents of Addicted Loved Ones, stated, “This event brings together a community of caregivers for a vulnerable population… recovery from addiction is possible, there are services and people in this community who do care.” Participants marched down Fry Boulevard with messages of hope, including “You are worth it” and “Recovery is for real.” Smyth urged the community to confront substance abuse, saying, “Let’s quit hiding our heads in the sand… There is help and there is hope.”
